The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge of theory and practice of
\ngraphic design, i.e. explanation of means and ways of working in the domain of graphic design and
\nindustrialised graphic production.
\nThe outcome is gaining knowledge of the basic processes and postulates of graphic design. Students
\nare able to use letters, illustrations or photographs in the fields of utilitarian graphics, on the basis of
\ntypographic, illustrative and photographic correlations. They learn about graphic techniques and technologies
\nranging from classic printing tools and procedures to computer preparation and press processing.<\/p>\n
The concept and categories of graphic design. History of graphic activity. Modern graphic standards
\nproduction. Software and hardware infrastructure of graphic design and graphic production. Graphic
\nproduct design. Typography, illustration and photography as variables of graphic design. Printing
\nprocesses. Letterpress printing. Intaglio printing. Flat printing. Screen printing. Digital printing. Print
\nquality standards. Printing substrates. Special printing procedures and handling printing material.
\nClassification and characteristics of graphic processing materials. Final graphic processing and
\nprocedures (cutting, bending, gluing, sewing).<\/p>\n
