Students master the techniques of compositing digital images. Students should be able to independently
\ndesign complex projects that require visual cohesion, and are based on materials (i.e. images) of
\ndifferent types, such as 3D models, 2D graphics, photography, video and animation. Students are able to
\ncombine different source materials into a coherent, unique and visually harmonious whole. Using
\nrelevant software tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects),
\nthey are able to prepare, process and realise a digitally manipulated image or video for commercial
\npurposes. They can experiment with new methods of integrating digital technologies in order to improve
\ntheir own design practice.<\/p>\n
History of compositing. Digital images and the rendering process. Basic principles of digital compositing.
\nPhysical and virtual camera. Photography and video recording. Page aspect ratio, focus, exposure,
\nframe, frame rate. Light properties. HDR material. Layers. Colour correction, colour manipulation. Chroma
\nkey. Simulations of physical properties (working with textures, the simulation of physics).<\/p>\n
Through practical exercises in appropriate software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe
