Digital Art  

Objectives

Students establish their own artistic practice in terms of procedures and outcomes of work in the field of contemporary digital art. The aim is to introduce them to the theory of new media and define poetic and aesthetic references relevant to conceptualising a doctoral artistic project.

Outcomes

Students define and compare digital art categories. They determine orientations of digital arts in the context of postmodern art. They are trained for a comparative analysis of contemporary tendencies, and especially for the discussion of the relation of multimedia design (such as design practices for software-determined production) and digital arts (as strategy of constant redefining of determinants concerning media, genre, conceptual and other artistic tastes).

Research work

Through research work, students analyse references relevant to contemporary digital art and a doctoral artistic project, and produce works in the domain of digital art and multimedia design.
