Qualifying Exam in Digital Media

Objectives

Students broaden their knowledge about recent software infrastructure for multimedia design, especially in the field of UX design (user experience design) and digital compositing.

Outcomes

Students broaden their knowledge about software for multimedia design, UX design, video editing and processing, animation and modelling, and for the production of vector and raster graphics. Adequate IT literacy is insisted upon as a requirement for improvement and creative thinking in the context of digital art and multimedia design, i.e. software-determined production.

Course content

Research work

Students are trained to manipulate heterogeneous resources. As part of research work, students perform editing exercises and video color correction, where typographic, illustrative and photographic solutions are used as components of compositing. They generate products that are morphologically determined by the way of use and the participation of several users. They perform a comparative analysis of selected references (procedures and results) in the field of multimedia design.
