Digital Illustration

Objectives and outcomes

Students are trained to use classical and modern media of illustration in the context of digital art. The
course (as an elective) provides an opportunity for illustration-oriented students to gain a broader insight
into contemporary tendencies of illustration, in the context of graphic advertising, animation and digital
art. They are oriented towards modern software and hardware infrastructure in the field of illustration.
Students identify or innovate ways of transposing a classical drawing into vector and raster graphics, and
work on successive illustrator series. They are trained for comparative analysis of modern tendencies. In
particular, students are trained to discuss the concept of authorship in the context of a software-
generated illustration.
