Doctoral Artistic Project – Theoretical Foundations and Qualifying Examination  

Objectives

Students choose methods and techniques relevant to writing the final thesis. The aim is to define aesthetic references and design models, and plan design procedures and solutions regarding the doctoral artistic project.

Outcomes

Students demonstrate general competences in the field of multimedia design and digital art, but also competences in specific areas of contemporary art. They define the topic of the dissertation. They think critically and explain their own artistic practices in writing. They master the technical-methodological procedures for writing theoretical papers.

Course content

Research work

Students define their own metatheoretical positions and conceive a theoretical explanation for the doctoral artistic project. They research topics relevant to the dissertation. They establish problem relations and define the topic of the project. They study an interdisciplinary determined language or discourse relevant to the topic of the doctoral artistic project. They define the design models relevant to the design of the printed form of the dissertation. They plan design procedures and solutions for the doctoral artistic project.
