Objectives and outcomes

Students are trained to work in the field of illustration. They learn how to use classic and modern illustration media. The learning outcome is to acquire a basic knowledge about the history and contemporary aesthetic and poetic concepts of illustration. Students are trained to work with different drawing and painting techniques. They also acquire a basic knowledge of software tools for illustration. They learn the basic algorithms for achieving formal qualities. Students are trained to discuss how to use illustrations in the fields of graphic or interactive advertising.

Practical classes

Students improve their drawing and painting skills and orientate themselves when it comes to the categories of purpose, style, direction, school or fashion of illustration. They compare illustration and other graphic media, especially typography and photography.
