Interactive Graphics

Objectives and outcomes

Students extend their knowledge in the field of multimedia design, and especially in the field of
interactive design solutions. This course (with Design and Information Technology 2 and Multimedia
Computer Systems 1) should provide theoretical and practical training in the areas of web design,
generative design, interaction design, user interface design and user experience (UI and UX). Students
know the basics of creating interactive platforms. They can use different elements of computer graphics
as interactive variables. In this context, they especially deal with the design and technical qualities of
animated elements. Students know how to design products that are structured as multimedia and have a
temporal form.

Lectures

Students determine the technical properties of interactive media. They are introduced to aspects of user
interface design (UI) and user experience (UX). They are trained to manipulate heterogeneous resources
when planning and carrying out the design process. They learn to use typographic, drawing and
photographic solutions as factors of digital compositing in generating interactive forms. They perform a
comparative analysis of selected references (procedures and work outcomes) in the domain of
multimedia design.

Practical classes

Students work on multimedia projects in Adobe Animate, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After
Effects. They focus on data flow, i.e. the dynamic nature of multimedia. Practically, they create
multimedia that is shaped by the way it is used.
