Photography

Lectures

Teaching is based on examples from contemporary photography and the history of photography. Students learn about the characteristics and qualities of certain photographic equipment. Variable recording parameters are defined, i.e. ranges, modes, functions and correlations of specific camera, optical and lighting settings. Students carry out a comparative analysis of selected references from the history of photography and they discuss the aesthetics in photography.

Practical classes

Through practical exercises (portrait studies, urban landscape studies, still life studies) students learn photography techniques using different digital media (from smartphones to full frame DSLR systems). They learn how Adobe Lightroom software functions. They learn how to get perfect light and manage camera and optical settings. They learn how to use lenses. Students are engaged in recording, editing and printing photos in a photographic studio, using modern and professional hardware and software infrastructure.
